The Women’s Crusade

IN THE 19TH CENTURY, the paramount moral challenge was slavery. In the 20th century, it was totalitarianism. In this century, it is the brutality inflicted on so many women and girls around the globe: sex trafficking, acid attacks, bride burnings and mass rape.

Yet if the injustices that women in poor countries suffer are of paramount importance, in an economic and geopolitical sense the opportunity they represent is even greater. “Women hold up half the sky,” in the words of a Chinese saying, yet that’s mostly an aspiration: in a large slice of the world, girls are uneducated and women marginalized, and it’s not an accident that those same countries are disproportionately mired in poverty and riven by fundamentalism and chaos. There’s a growing recognition among everyone from the World Bank to the U.S. military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff to aid organizations like CARE that focusing on women and girls is the most effective way to fight global poverty and extremism. That’s why foreign aid is increasingly directed to women. The world is awakening to a powerful truth: Women and girls aren’t the problem; they’re the solution.

This slogan is even more immediate and powerful than Yes We Can; it will likely destroy (but it’ll be a real revolution, with a lot of blood needed: in any case – both Iran Regime resisting or abated) 30 years after the Khomeinist regime, through a systemic collapse  - according to prof. The chance that they will restraint from repression, has been excluded by bloody Khamenei in his Frid’ 19 June speech.

Before the elections, the LAST POLL gave Moussavi in front with 54 vs 39% (but Ahmadi was by far over-valued). Int. Min. officials before dimissioning (and, now, disappearing – probably killed) gave the true data to the opposition: a slandslide Moussavi’s victory, and Ahmadi Nejad just 3rd!

But among mostly Islamist, and some NazIslamist Aljazeera.com readers (excl. myself), over 2300 voters only a 29% believe there was the electoral fraud! While the evidence is overwhelming: e.g. all the provinces exhibit the same %, with an impossible levelling out of ethnic preferences for the candidates.

QADDAFI IS almost RIGHT TWICE

Running the minor risk of being the only moderate political observer in Europe to agree with him, we explain here why we agree deeply (although with qualifications) with both the epater les bourgeois proposiitons held yesterday by Qaddafi in Rome:

1 – America has practiced terrorism (a self-evidence, that  no one can deny). FAQ: What’s the difference between Bin Laden, and Reagan trying to kill the entire Qaddafi family in 1986?

2 – You should abolish political parties in Italy. We’ll show why this is a boomerang for Qaddafi.

PROP. 1

The difference puts Reagan and the US in a much heavier position, since a democratic power can not go to a private “vendetta”, namely without trying alternatives. But the list is much longer:

a- NATO (France and the US) forces killed all the Italian civilians  (about a hundred) on the civil plane over the sky of Ustica, in another act of war to Lybia;

 b -the disclosure of CIA docs shows that the US strategy in the 1970s was to produce serial terrorism in Italy, from the Piazza Fontana mass killing, to Bologna railway station, etc. (on the latter: see also the recent  interrogation of Carlos by an Italian judge, confirming the CIA evidence). They financed, armed and organised all that – by use of home fascists and secret services. They personally killed Aldo Moro, manoeuvring the BR  for that purpose: this is History by now.

As a democratic country, Italy should have broken any, even diplomatic tie with the US for each one of these episodes of war to Italy. But we aren’t any democracy, as well as  the US are not.

PROP. 2

Version 2.1. Italy abolishes all the Parties, as forms of monopoly of supply in the political competitive markets, as the sounder political theory recommends since long: both lib-lib (Pareto) and lib-soc  theory (Rosselli, Chiaromonte, Weil). Italy might therefore start an evolutionary path, eventually  readdressing its oligopolistic biopolitical system in the lost  realm of democracy,  and National dignity (sold off to Foreign powers: US and USSR in the past).

Version 2.2 But Qaddafi has something else in mind: a  populist dictatorship. He has short memory, and scarce knowledge of the balance of power. A neofascist Italy would quickly re-occupy Lybia as a colony (and no one would protest seriously abroad, not even in Africa; some Islamic demos, and that’s all folks). From Sudan, as a novel “Lyon of the desert”, Qaddafi will organize the guerrilla warfare: but  he’ll have little access to his foreign investments and placements, so he’ll run short of non-human resources. With Lybian gas and oil, Italy would return to the Great Power table, from which it fell down for zero increase of productivity in the last 2 decades. From a purely nationalistic and selfish viewpoint, Qaddafi’s idea is a winwin for us, worth being closely analysed in terms of costs and benefits. But from a democratic stance, we wouldn’t enter such an analytical process.

SFUGGITE x IL ROTTO DELLA CUFFIA  — le palle di S. F-ini all’avido giustizialista, che credeva di averle già in pugno,  ma pur raddoppiando dal 4,4 all’8% non va all’incasso da nessuna parte, per ora ma pure mai più. Se gli altri non gli fan regali.

PARADOSSO delle scienze sociali: di Pietro, l’orribile orco Giustizialista (una disgrazia umana già come PM, ma come politico può far danni inenarrabili ed irreparabili a tutto il sistema, dopo quello criminale e gravissimo, impunito di aver spinto al suicidio il più grande imprenditore europeo, Gardini) è sì il vincitore quantitativo no. 1 (alla pari con l’Araba Fenice Bonino – Pannella), ma non porta a casa  proprio nulla. Il momento di grazia lo ha avuto nell’anno testè trascorso: ma il fatto di non aver mai preso posizione nella crisi (non essersi legato ad 1 intelligentsia di scienziati sociali, che in Italia abbonda, e sono orfani politicamente) lo ha bloccato a ciò che si merita: ad un voto di malavoglia, poco convinto, del “meno peggio” ed adesioni solo di personalità iper-opportuniste. Nei polls dei mesi scorsi, idv sorpassava il 10% ed era ad un passo dal sorpasso del PD: ma questo ha energie politiche autentiche, “de soca” (di tradizione), che  idv se le sogna e non sa attrarre: solo malissimo guidate. E’ bastato un minimo di Francescanità del neo Segretario, e tali energie sono uscite allo scoperto almeno a difendere la base, se non ancora a contrattaccare  i proselitismi idv e Lega. Ora la parola spetta:

a) alla rinascita dell’ulivismo, si potrebbe pure richiamare Prodi – ma  è meglio di no, per far crescere una nuova classe dirigente;

b) basta con noemi: parliamo di 1 milione di non-noemi precarie e non tutelate da Sacconi. Sulla crisi delle classi medie e dei ceti deboli, una sinistra con le palle può benissimo prendere  un 10% di voti e passare in 1-2 anni: dall’attuale parità CD-CS appena sopra il 45%, ad un 55% a 35%, E’ facilissimo, con 1 governo che non ha ancora speso 1 solo € di stimolo fiscale. L’elettorato di Bossi terrà e si espanderà proprio per la crisi: ma una  politica efficace, incisiva e propositiva (nulla di massimalistico), legata alle  soggettvità e mobilitazioni sociali può portare a: fronte CS 55% (+10%), PDL 22% (-13) e Lega 15% (+5). Alle prox elezioni: Maroni o Tremonti candidato CD a Premier, e batterlo con un ticket   Bersani-Letta. Il vero ostacolo su questa strada è proprio di Pietro, e tutto lo spazio che gli è stato lasciato. Ma seppoffà.

A recent video blog post by Lance Armstrong and his teammate Levi Leipheimer, shot by the cyclists themselves after they completed a grueling stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia.
Updated | May 29 Lance Armstrong, who stopped talking to the news media without explanation or comment nearly two weeks ago, is not the first star athlete to tire of answering questions from reporters, but he does seem to be the first to embark on a drive to put them out of business entirely, by simply reporting, in multimedia blog posts and tweets, on his own exploits.

As my colleague Juliet Macur reported earlier this week, Philippe Maertens, a spokesman for Mr. Armstrong’s cycling team, “said that Armstrong was at first upset with reports that he had been the instigator of a rider protest last week in Milan. Now, Maertens said, he was not sure why Armstrong continued his boycott of the news media.” According to the spokesman, the seven-time Tour de France champion told him simply, “I don’t need them.”

Given his immense fame, and the power of the new media tools he has obviously mastered, Mr. Armstrong is now free to cut out the middle man and go straight to the people.

Ever the competitor, Mr. Armstrong even seems to be enjoying tweaking his new rivals in the press corps, secure in the knowledge that he is scooping them hour after hour as he posts regular updates to his chatty Twitter feed, where he banters with other cyclists, comments on his comeback and even answers questions from some of his more than 933,000 followers. Last week he even took a moment to post this comment on a news report saying that some members of the cycling media had stopped quoting his tweets, in an effort to force him to engage with them:

It has to be said that he is quite good at this kind of tweeted, blogged and vlogged coverage, which may bode well for his chances of winning another kind of race, for governor of Texas in 2014.

At a press conference in February, he had a testy exchange about doping with an Irish journalist and former rider, Paul Kimmage, who has suggested that Mr. Armstrong cheated and even called the champion a “cancer” on cycling.

When Mr. Armstrong is in control of the coverage, the subject of doping is not often part of the conversation.

Dopo questa ampia e reiterata evidenza empirica (segnalata da tutta la stampa sportiva  mondiale – si è osservato che così si giustificano gli sputi fiamminghi ai nostri Campioni):

1. Esistono buoni, robusti motivi per ritenere che la maggioranza, o  almeno una consistente minoranza del popolo abruzzese, siano sub-normali.
2. Qualcuno li informi che a loro non appartiene nessun territorio legale: è Repubblica Italiana e vi vigono le sue leggi. (Fatta salva – ma solo in àmbito di filosofia e sociologia politica, e non di diritto vigente certo! -, la sana dialettica centro-periferia, con gli autonomismi da Codice Barbaricino cari a Bastianino Brusco, lettore di Gourvitch).
3. Voi sub-abruzzesi potete provare ad impiccare 1 corridore veneto. Se poi calano gli alpini stavolta non a salvarvi, ma a demolirvi, però, poi non vi dovete lamentare.
